Description
Dyed from a double stranded sock blank that produces two identical 50g skeins of yarn, this Superwash Sock yarn has a standard construction of 4/16nm with 400m (437 yds) per 100g. Made with 75% Superwashed Merino wool and 25% Nylon, the merino fibres have been specially treated before being spun to enable it to be machine washable, therefore will not felt when dyed or washed. The merino is combined with a smaller percentage of nylon giving the knitted fabric extra durability and strength making it harder wearing. The merino gives natural elasticity and the 21-micron merino is anything but itchy or scratchy on the skin. The yarn is perfect for socks but can equally can be knitted into scarves, shawls or even baby garments which will feel soft next to the skin due to the fine micron merino used.
Hand-dyed in Ketchikan, Alaska.
