Description
The Ketchikan Collection is a series of beaded lace patterns that highlight the rugged beauty of Ketchikan, Alaska using the unique qualities of Wonderland’s Unicorn yarn. Buy individually or as a pattern book.
A temperate rain forest, Ketchikan averages 24-25 inches of rain through its three summer months and over 13 feet a rain per year. In fact, during 2020, summer records were broken when the city sported over 47 inches of rain for the season. That copious amount of water falls on a gorgeous assortment of wildlife from black bear to bald eagle and varied terrain ranging from salmon-filled shores to 3,000-foot mountain peaks. It gathers and flows in small waterfalls dotting the main highway around the island.
Rain shawlette’s bead-accented “raindrops” shimmer against a lacy backdrop and end in “waterfalls” of cascading lace border. The perfect size to accent just about any outfit, this shawlette is sure to turn heads!
Raindrop beads hang suspended in the circular motif of the shawl body, filter down through the geometric ground motif, and flow out in the waterfall lace border. Like rain, the pattern is not entirely symmetrical, adding to the calming mystique.
